The Forum hosted a lot of hot games considering the All-Star Games of the NBA in 1972 and 1983, and the NHL All-Star Game of 1981. In 1984, it was the host for Summer Olympics Basketball in addition to men's basketball contest of Big West Conference between 1983 and 1988 as well as Pacific-10 Conference in 1989. Faithful Central Bible Church acquired the arena in 2000, and in addition to the occasional church services, it was leased to be used as a host to sports games, as well as concerts and more events.

The Madison Square Garden Company bought the arena in 2012 for .5 million, and then announcement made to refurbish the arena to be used as a concert venue. The arena hosted different sports events and in addition to the basketball games, boxing and tennis matches have been played there. Also, concerts and political events have been organized in the arena. To distinguish it from other venues with the same name, some people would like to sometimes to refer to it as "L.A. Forum" or "Los Angeles Forum."

A lot of artists have stopped by the arena. For example, the British rock band Cream performed there in October 1968 as part of their Farewell Tour. Also, the rock band Steppenwolf made performance in the arena as part of their At Your Birthday Party Tour in 1969. Led Zeppelin made various performances at the arena, and they even recorded a part of their album How the West Was Won there.
